Jamie combines nature and animate objects with graphic elements reflecting personal experiences and emotions, often incorporating paper to mirror the fragility of her feelings. I imagine life as a collection of moments, memories and glimpses---switching back and forth from past to present. A slide show of experiences and emotions triggered by a certain sound, smell or touch. I work everyday, often in odd or obscure places, pasting, layering and drawing all of the senses that fill my thoughts, trying to make sense of them over time. Paper, with its fragile, disposable nature stirs my sense of vulnerability and provides the joy of allowing it to take on a new life.
